Brief Background:
I
completed my undergraduate studies in chemical engineering at the University of California
at Davis in
1982, and my master's and doctoral studies, also in chemical engineering, at
the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1986, specializing in theoretical
fluid mechanics and transport phenomena. I then spent five years as an
assistant professor of applied mathematics at MIT and ten years as an associate
professor of aerospace and mechanical engineering at Boston University,
before joining KGI and CGU in 2001. My research interests are in the fields of
Fluid Mechanics, Transport Phenomena, Bioengineering, Acoustics, Nonlinear
Dynamics, and Computational and Applied Mathematics.
